Important Dates at the Farm...

We've started compiling a timeline of significant dates from the history of our farm.

19?? - Evan Bought the Farm

After Grandad Evan's family moved from the Black Mountains to Dinedor, he was invited to work on a neighbouring farm. Starting out as a farm worker, he went on to manage the farm and he would eventually buy it.

1958 - Tim was Born

Tim, the second born son, briefly pursued a career as a police officer, but God led him to take on the family farm. He chooses to develop pig farming as a major part of the business.

1990 - Tim & Family Move In

Gran & Grandad move across the road, into a newly built bungalow. Grandad Evan continues driving his lorry, delivering fodder and livestock. Tim, Liz & family move into the farmhouse - work is now on the doorstep!

1993- BSE Crisis

Government policy & miscommunication causes fear over the safety of eating British beef. The trade in beef cattle collapses. Tim is caught up in the storm as a buyer pulls out of a deal for a shed full of bullocks ready for slaughter. Overnight the businesses largest asset has become it's biggest liability!

2001 - Foot & Mouth Crisis

Tim has worked hard to establish an impressive flock of Welsh Mule ewes that are crossed with Suffolk rams. This labour of love is destroyed by the fall out of Foot & Mouth disease. The disease never makes it onto the farm, but despite going to extreme lengths to keep the flock, they are ultimately destroyed as part of the animal welfare scheme with negligible compensation.

2020 - Covid Pandemic

Mask wearing and Covid Lockdowns have a devastating effect on the mental health of the population. Liz recognises the blessing of 'space' that comes with living on the farm and a 'seed' is sown...

2022 - Picnic on the Farm

From the chaos of covid we emerge with a question... How can we share the blessings we have? 'Picnic on the Farm' is launched as a way to diversify the business and help us to share all the good things we enjoy.

2025 - Farm Park Launched

With Ed, Becca & Matt picking up the batton, a new day dawns on Dinedor Cross Farm.

We have been on some journey to get where we are; but we've got real faith for the future!

Through all the joys & struggles,
God has been faithful!
