1993- BSE Crisis
Government policy & miscommunication causes fear over the safety of eating British beef. The trade in beef cattle collapses. 2001 - Foot & Mouth Crisis
Tim has worked hard to establish an impressive flock of Welsh Mule ewes that are crossed with Suffolk rams. This labour of love is destroyed by the fall out of Foot & Mouth disease. The disease never makes it onto the farm, but despite going to extreme lengths to keep the flock, they are ultimately destroyed as part of the animal welfare scheme with negligible compensation.
